Teapots are important objects in many homes. They are often the gathering point for social and familial interactions and are a comforting source of warmth and companionship in good times and bad.

Each of these teapots belongs to a person or place I know well and I have been served tea out of each of them.

 

In most cases, I asked friends to send me a photo of their teapot as well as the answer to the question “What do you imagine is inside your teapot?” In others, I thought about the person or place and imagined its inner world myself.
